Weber Reilly Kit
The Weber Reilly Soluble Salt Test determines the concentration of soluble iron salts by the colour produced by reaction with the reagent. The kit will remain active and can be kept for up to 6 months to a year provided that they are properly sealed and kept out of direct sunlight.
Soluble Salts Test Reagent
The Weber Reilly kit is the easiest of all test procedures and provides a useful and necessary quality control tool for surface preparation quality to meet international requirements. It is a convenient method of determining the presence of destructive soluble salts, which can cause coatings to fail, thereby also saving a lot of time and money down the line.
Since soluble iron salts are formed at the bottom of the pits, the method is specifically suited to steel that has been blast cleaned to SA 2½ as a norm.

The kit is supplied in 500ml and is available from our office – orders required.
The procedure is as follows:
step 01.
The surface must be DRY before the test is applied
step 02.
Mix entire content of components A and B and shake the bottle of reagent well before use
step 03.
Spray an area of 500-100mm² with the reagent from a spray bottle with sufficient material to give a uniform white colour
step 04.
Allow to dry (2-3 minutes), then compare any pink or red colouration with the colour card Supplied
